11 Bit Studios announce Anomaly 2

11 Bit Studios have revealed their secret next project is indeed Anomaly 2 - sequel to Anomaly: Warzone Earth. The game will blend real-time strategy and tower defence mechanics. One interesting aspect of the game is your ability to morph troops into war mechs, adding an extra layer of strategy.

"In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon."

Anomaly 2 is targeted for release on PC, Mac, and Linux ($14.99 or equivalent) during Q2, 2013.
