3.5% of mobile gamers spend money on in-app purchases

But they tend to spend a huge amount compared to everyone else.

In a report from AppsFlyer, which examines the world of in-app purchases and their impact on the market, we learned that indeed most of mobile gamers don't really like spending their cash on microtransactions in games. That said, the 3.5% of the users that do spend money, spend more than 30 times as much as the rest.

"Our data showed that only about 3.5% of gamers spend money in-app, but those users are big spenders, spending 30 times more than the average gamer (paying and non-paying) with $9.39 vs. $0.32 a month per gaming app," explains the report.

It also shows that the iOS users tend to spend more money on their games than Android users, and that's by a good margin. Those on iOS spend $15 dollars on average, whereas the Android folks only spend $7 dollars, give or take. You can see a detailed graph below.
