3DS to surpass DS first year sales

Nintendo has released some new sales figures, which include the projection that the 3DS is on course to surpass the first year's sales for the DS.

The console has racked up 1.65 million unit sales in the US in the eight months since launch, according to a NPD Group report, meaning sales should surpass the DS - which sold 2.37 million units - come the full year, states the publisher.
