Forza Motorsport 7 will run at 4K resolution, at 60 frames per second on the just-unveiled Xbox One X but, according to franchise head Dan Greenawalt, that doesn't mean it'll look bad on less-capable hardware.

Speaking about the visuals in our interview at E3 2017, Greenawalt reckons "the graphics speak for themselves, and it's not just on Xbox One X". In reality, the way Turn 10 worked on optimising performance has benefited both older consoles and weaker computers:

"But I would say it's worth mentioning, investigating 4K and what that means, actually made the game look better on Xbox One, Xbox One S, as well as low-end PCs", say Greenawalt, "because we had a look at how we create greater texture resolution for 4K, and those techniques actually can work on all devices, and then we have all the additional power to do even more things on Xbox One X".

As an example of the beauty and the gameplay implications of the dynamic weather in Forza 7, Greenawalt adds that "clouds are moving and shifting, a storm may roll in, rain collects, puddles grow, if you're on a hot track like Dubai (UAE) your tires need to grease up from all the heat. It starts with the physics always on Forza."

Finally, talking about visuals and options for the Windows 10 PC version of Forza Motorsport 7, Greenawalt also confirmed the game will support both 21:9 wide screens and multi-monitor for compatible graphic cards.
