It was eight months ago that Capcom announced Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5, and since then we've heard very little regarding the courtroom adventure title.
All that changed today, after details emerged in Famitsu (via Andriasang) regarding the game. For starters, Capcom has announced that there will be a fifteen minute playable demo available to try at Tokyo Games Show.
Ace Attorney 5 will be a 3DS title, and Phoenix Wright returns once again. A new character, a girl dressed in yellow, will also make an appearance (we'll find out more about her at TGS). Series creator Shu Takumi is not fully involved in the project, but Famitsu reveals Motohide Eshiro is on board as producer, Takeshi Yamazaki as scenario director, and Noriyuki Iwadare is working on the soundtrack.
The game is to be set one year after the events depicted in Ace Attorney 4. Phoenix Wright returns to the courtroom just in time to see it blow up in a massive explosion. Cue a new case, the accused a girl called Shinobu, weak, and prone to going into spasm at any time, it will be up to gamers to piece together events. In the courtroom Wright will go up against the brother of Winston Payne.
Phoenix Wright will be in glorious 3D, and there's going to be new gameplay systems implemented, for example players will be able select icons during testimony that will affect facial expressions. We'll know more after TGS, but the reports coming from Famitsu are sure to have fans of the series very excited about a return to the puzzling world of Phoenix Wright.
