Akira Yamaoka's answer for the struggling music genre

Perhaps it's not about playing with plastic instruments anymore, but introducing music via games.

Talking to legendary video game composer Akira Yamaoka at E3 2016 we asked the musician about his thoughts on the failed rebirth for the plastic-instruments-based music genre. And it seems that Yamaoka-san is actually thinking out of the box when it comes to combine music and videogames for different audiences:

"I do hope that the way I incorporated 100 bands in Let it Die would possibly be the answer or one of the answers to reviving the sound game genre", suggests Yamaoka. "I don't actually feel that maybe the way of Guitar Hero or Rock Band is the best way nowadays, as it's pretty much singing or putting the music for fun, but rather instead having a game as the main platform then introducing songs into it as needed and see how the fans react to it and maybe that might get more people interested in the songs".
