Last month we got details on the maps for Creative Assembly's A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, but now we have a brand new trailer that's all about one key historical figure: Alfred the Great.
Alfred is so important as his victory at the Battle of Edington against Viking invaders marks the starting point of the game, 878 CE. In the game each playable leader will face unique events and branching dilemmas based around historical events, and the choices will have consequences, meaning players can "re-write history," as CA phrases it.
Victory can be attempted by either expanding aggressively; increasing the fame of a faction by things like construction and influence; or by completing unique objectives based on the history of the faction. There is one more final, ultimate victory condition too, "presenting the player with a unique and significant late-game challenge."
You can see Alfred in the trailer down below, and for more on the game be sure to check out the Steam page. Are you excited to get into the battle sometime this year?
