It was bound to happen sooner than later - never underestimate the pace that some players burn through MMO-content. But this was a bit too fast, actually, since according to Mythic it shouldn't even be possible. But the happy Destruction players on the European Warhammer Online server Karak Eight Peaks managed to break through the pitiful Order defences and sack Altdorf, the Order capital. A task that should've taken a lot, lot longer than it did.

Great hilarity ensued, especially on the Warhammer Alliance forums. It's a "we rule, you suck, L2P noobs" and "cheaters! exploits!" and all that stuff that you can expect from a MMO-forum these days kind of thread. But no matter how it actually happened, the important thing is that it did happen. I haven't seen any spin from Mythic yet, but they better be sweating and working like crazed ants (or rabid snotlings) to get things fixed before it starts to happen on more and more servers.

According to some, Karak Eight Peaks is one of the most over-populated servers in Europe. And since Destruction do have the advantage of numbers right now, I am not surprised they got the first city siege going. On my server the two capital cities just reached rank 2 (Inevitable City yesterday, Altdorf sometime during the day) and the highest leveled character I've seen so far is 23, so I doubt it will be a problem for us in the near future. But for the more crowded servers this could easily become a problem.

The picture above is not of Altdorf, but it's got fire in it. That's got to count for something.
