American McGee's Spicy Horse is not closing

American McGee, the creator of American McGee's Alice, and its Shanghai-based game studio Spicy Horse, has been hit by redundancies and lay-offs due to the shaky economy and a not terribly successful move to free-to-play. After former staff commented on the studio closing it was thought that this was indeed the case, but now those rumours have been put to rest.

"We are not closing. [Someone] posted this on Chinese social media after we let some people go. Our studio remains, in the same location, with a core team who will pivot away from F2P mobile games," said American McGee.
