Patrice Desilets, who worked as a Creative Director on Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2, has explained at today's Reboot Develop conference in Croatia a bit more about his new game, called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

The game takes place on Earth ten to two million years ago, and although it was originally introduced as an episodic project, Ancestors swiftly become too big and had to be reworked, and for that reason Panache Digital Games stopped the concept and opened up the game. Whether or not Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is open world is still unknown, but a big part of the adventure happens in early Africa, because this is the cradle of humanity. The game will feature modern survival elements, which includes the management of collected resources, and according to VG247 the dev team has discussed the appearance of cannibalism and its role in human evolution.

Furthermore, Desilets also told some funny stories about working with Panache. According to him nobody has to work Mondays and it's only the female staff who are allowed to tell the story. "If the candidate has a dick he's not hired. I'm not telling the story of humankind only with guys. It didn't happen that way. You need to make babies," he explained.

Is Ancestors looking like an interesting project?
