We have previously reported that the studio behind the popular survival game ARK: Survival Evolved were caught up in some legal problems following the hiring of a former Trendy Entertainment employee and the subsequent "poaching" of further staffers.
It was a rather infected situation where Jeremy Stieglitz, a former designer at Trendy, secretly worked on ARK at Studio Wildcard where his wife also worked, in breach of his contract.
Trendy took the matter to court in December, but now the matter has been settled out of court. According to a DM from Susan Claire Steiglitz the matter was settled for $40 million, far less than the $600 million Trendy were alledgedly asking for.
Nevertheless, it's a lot of money even for a successful studio like Studio Wildcard. At least they managed to avoid having the game taken off the market and business can carry on.
What this means for Dungeon Defenders II? Well, now Trendy has some spare cash to use on recruitment with the game remaining in Early Access...
