The Assassin's Creed movie is set to go into production this September, actor Michael Fassbender has confirmed.

There's still plenty to be revealed about the upcoming movie adaptation of Ubisoft's most popular franchise. In an interview with ComingSoon.net, the Prometheus actor refused to be drawn into whether he'd be playing character Desmond Miles in the film:

"You don't know that. Don't listen to what they tell you, that's the first rule," he said when questioned.

When the site asked him about what games in the series might have been adapted for the film's script, Fassbender said: "That's always the challenge of something that's so dense, to really find something and pare it down and basically, there are so many elements to it, so trying to translate that to an audience, you have to pick key things. So yes, that is part of it, getting through the density of it and paring down and engaging a simple story."

Fassbender will once again be working with director Justin Kurrzel and actor Marion Cotillard on the Assassin's Creed movie, which is set to appear in cinemas on December 21, 2016.
