IGN hosted a Q&A with Ubisoft Quebec, who is responsible for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, the next in line for this long running franchise. One of the questions was about microtransactions, and whether these would be in the game. The short answer is: yes.

Senior Producer Francois Pelland said that the game will have options to help speed up the progress and save time by dishing out some dough. He said that this was implemented to allow players with limited time to fully enjoy the huge world of Syndicate. He also assured that all of the game's contents can be opened without additional payments, and that microtransactions are completely optional.

We get to see ourselves how this holds up on October 23, when the game comes out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
