Assassin's screen in news report

On Danish TV on February 26, TV 2 News accidentally used a screen taken from Assassin's Creed when presenting a show about the cultural treasures of Syria.

The fact the image from the game was used after being mistaken for a genuine picture will no doubt be a great source of pride for the artists working at Ubisoft. They'll also no doubt appreciate the free publicity.

The scenario echoes similar events when ITV used footage taken from Arma 2, claiming in a documentary that in-game footage was actually the IRA taking down a helicopter. This latest incident, however, doesn't seem as severe - more a warning to check one's sources.
