Yesterday, we reported that Danish esports organisation Astralis had re-signed its in-game leader Gla1ve until the Summer of 2024. Now, the team has also announced that it has signed Philip 'Lucky' Ewald as an AWP player.

"At Astralis we're building for the future," said Kasper Hvidt, director of sports at Astralis. "We are constantly working on developing players and the teams with the one goal to constantly progress. Adding a young, energetic, and extremely skilled player like Philip to the roster is a part of this strategy."

Lucky, who is only 18 years only, will join the team as an AWPer (the sniper role), and has transferred from another Danish team, known as Tricked.

"I have a lot to learn at Astralis," said Lucky. "From their extensive playbook to everything going on outside the game. It will be a new feeling to be at a place where people have strong opinions about everything, we do, but I'm super excited to get started. Most of all I want to show the many Astralis fans that I'll give it everything to help the team and my teammates."

Lucky's contract starts on August 1, and the team has not commented on the value of the contract.
