Atomega is an online multiplayer FPS developed by Reflections, one of Ubisoft's studios, and was recently released on Steam. In the game players engage in a frantic battle for supremacy through intense 10-minute rounds featuring up to eight players, the crucial element being to gain mass to grow stronger and defeat one's opponents. Despite this recent release, Ubisoft has now announced new arena variants have been added to the original experience, introducing new match-dominating tactics:

• Temple - Mass falls from the sky as arenas collide bringing close-combat battle for the spoils in and around the central temple.

• Void - A tower-maze of futuristic neon poised above the abyss. A risky dash into the centre can bring big rewards for those who dare.

• Ascent - A golden Olympus of intricate design. Tiered levels create a constant dilemma of keeping the high ground advantage or descending to battle for mass.

• Limbo - Passageways lead into a central fight pit, plunging players into intense brawling battles. Only the toughest will succeed by dominating their opponents and holding the central area.

Reflections has also added a Nemesis system to make the gameplay more interesting, as repeated attacks on a player will turn the attacker into the player's Nemesis. This places a target on the opponent, allowing the player to track their movements throughout the map, and the player can use this to their advantage to either hide, or get revenge.

Do all these new features sound like good ones to you?
