Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad is often the source for a lot of insider information, and he's actually revealed some rather interesting facts about Pokémon Go, including the fact that August was the game's best month since September of 2016, when it had launched and the hype was in full force.

Ahmad reports that recent updates have pushed in-game spending, meaning it's on track to reach $3 billion USD in gross revenue. In the first three years after launch (not including August) it has grossed $2.65 billion, in fact, less than Clash of Clans' $3.15 billion in the comparable period but more than that of Clash Royale and Candy Crush Saga.

"Just to put that into perspective. $3 billion gross revenue (which will be reached before the end of the year) is equivalent to selling 50 million copies of a game at $60," Ahmad adds, along with the fact that Pokémon Let's Go for Switch sold 11 million units at that price.

What does the future hold for Pokémon Go?
