Last week Platinum Games released their highly regarded Bayonetta on Steam, more than 7 years after its original release on PS3 and Xbox 360. There really wasn't much fuzz made over the launch, no ad campaigns and no pre-orders or anything like that. But that didn't stop people from buying it. After only a week on Steam it has already sold well over 100,000 copies, according to Steamspy.
This most likely increases the chances of more Platinum Games titles being released on Steam, and hopefully also makes publishers more aware. In turn, this opens up possibilities for sequels as well, and perhaps Bayonetta 3 could now be a possibility down the line.
