Blizzard has announced that beta tests for Diablo III's new Necromancer class will be carried out shortly, and invitations will be sent worldwide soon, but they do include the disclaimer that the class and aspects of patch 2.6.0 are still in development, although fans are still encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences with the class.
To participate, you can visit your Beta Profile Settings in Account Management and make sure the Diablo box under Beta Tests I'm Interested In is checked, then update preferences, and you need an active license for the game (one that isn't banned either). Opting in doesn't guarantee access, though, due to limited invites.
"In addition to opt-ins, we are also inviting key members of the community on a case-by-case basis. Invites to the Necromancer beta test will be extremely limited, however, and opting in is your best way to get in," Blizzard also explained in the FAQs. "The number of players we invite will be based on our testing needs. If we ultimately determine we need more players to participate after the initial testing, we'll invite more," they continued.
Mac users will also be pleased to know that they can participate in this at the same time as Windows users too. Do you have high hopes for this new class, or are you tempering your expectations?
