During Ubisoft's E3 presentation today, they've announced their second foray of recent times into the pirate life. Calling it the "ultimate pirate experience", players can either go solo in an enormous world, or gang up with other pirates to become the "pirate kingpin".

Taking place in the Indian Ocean, Skull and Bones is in development by Ubisoft Singapore. They're including a 5v5 player-vs-player mode, but the bulk of the game is all about plundering as much loot as possible. Combat looks like an enhanced version of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, although there's a distinct lack of sea shanties being sung in the gameplay we saw, which you can watch below, along with a series of stills from the two trailers.

Skull and Bones

REVIEW. Written by Ben Lyons

There is potential to explore in places, but there are also far too many holes for this ship to make it back to port.
