Last year the world lost one of the most iconic comic book creators, Stan Lee, and while he's already been commemorated several times on different media platforms, he's yet to receive a dedicated in-game character in his memory... until now.

World of Warcraft fansite Wowhead has discovered a new character in Stormwind that was added through Patch 8.1.5, which is currently being tested on the game's PTR test servers.

The character is named 'Stanley' and shares the late creator's likeness, even exclaiming "Excelsior!" now and again. Apparently a Horde-themed character model has also been unearthed, meaning that a Horde equivalent might also be heading into the game.

You can see Wowhead discovering the character here. Is this a fitting tribute?

REVIEW. Written by Clover Harker

"Horde and Alliance facing off against each other once more doesn't feel like a repetitive blast from the past but rather an intriguing dive into the unknown."
