Blizzard announced yesterday evening that they're planning to make some serious design changes to Starcraft II, starting with addressing underused units and abilities while also trying to reduce sudden game-ending moments. First up is the most universal change is to the game's resources, with large mineral nodes going from 1500 to 1800 and Vespene-geysers going from 2000 up to 2250.

A bit aspect of the update is changes to units, as loads are being tweaked, and one is even being removed, the Mothership Core, which is described as "the most experimental, and risky, change of this update." This is in order to simplify early defences for Protoss by concentrating attention on the Nexus.

"Keep in mind that this is a first pass on the design update for November this year," Blizzard concludes. "Things may look very different as testing goes on with numbers changing, new changes being added or other areas being rolled back. We are very excited about the potential that these changes have for the StarCraft II multiplayer community, and the test matchmaking queue has been activated. Please let us know what you think in the comments below and have fun!"
