Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was just released and some players have already encountered a game-breaking bug within its digital walls. The bug is a progression block occuring on consoles as a player begins a game and then downloads the 1.02 update - an update that's not yet live on Xbox One and wasn't live on PlayStation 4 up until now. The bug in question put chests into the incorrect open/close state, resulting in some crucial items being unobtainable.

Since the patch is already live on PlayStation 4, those playing on the console can just start a new save and be fine now and in the future but the developer isn't sure whether it will be able to update the game to help retain player's saves post-bug.

For Xbox players, however, the studio is working on a fix and will update players on the progress here.

Those who have managed to get past the point of the bug don't need to worry and can continue to play as if the bug never existed.

REVIEW. Written by Sergio Figueroa

"After so many years of waiting for a new Castlevania game, we can say that Koji Igarashi has delivered a good one, even if it does arrive with a different name."
