Despite being beaten to the UK charts top-spot by Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has still managed to pull in some impressive figures. Ubisoft has announced its sold over one milion units in its first week on sale in the UK, making it the company's fastest selling title.

So says Ubisoft's EMEA Chief of Marketing and Sales Geoffroy Sardin, who was speaking to MCV, saying it was the best launch result in the company's European history. "If you compare [the 1m in a week] with last year's ACII sales this is a big jump - so it's a great achievement," Sardin said.

According to company research, the greater numbers is due the series' boasting a multiplayer mode for the first time, whicb has proven a great pull with 60% of players notching up online playtime.

There's also more DLC planned after the multiplayer update that releases in December, but Sardin also confirmed that the franchise is to see its next title hit in 2011.

"Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials - and more details will be forthcoming. But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin's Creed game."
