We're in Orlando, Florida at the Amway Centre, home to the basketball team Orlando Magic, to check out the Call of Duty World Championships 2017. Day one has concluded and while we haven't been in the main arena because it doesn't open till Friday, we've been watching all of the games and interviewing players left, right and center.

The day kicked off with fan favourites OpTic Gaming facing off against fourth seed 3suP and as expected, they brushed them aside 3-0. We caught up with Crimsix following their domination, you can find out what he had to say below.

In the same group, Epsilon eSports beat Echo Fox 3-0 but it was a much closer affair, with an impressive comeback from 5-3 down on Search and Destroy, and a very close Uplink game that went to overtime. We interviewed Joshh from Epsilon after this game; check it out below.

Group B was more tense, with Mindfreak.Black taking a surprise Search and Destroy game 6-1 off Team EnVyUs, before the esteemed North American team came back and won 3-1 overall. Elevate EU had a similar situation, defeating Projekt Evil 3-1 also.

eUnited were up next, and they played against top Australian team, Mindfreak. They saw them off with relative ease in a 3-0 victory, while the other game in their group, Team Infused vs Lethal Gaming, was a closer call with Infused mounting a three game comeback after losing the first.

Luminosity Gaming vs Supremacy followed, with LG looking very dominant in the respawn modes with a 3-0 victory overall. Rise Nation vs Team Vitality came up next and despite taking the Search and Destroy, the trio of Englishmen with the fourth Frenchman couldn't hold off Rise and they bowed out 3-1.

Group E was the same story; FaZe Clan beat Team Allegiance 3-1, only losing the Uplink in an enormous 7-1 upset. Red Reserve, another all British team, walked over eRa Eternity 3-0, putting them top of the group.

Group F was perhaps the most interesting of the day, with Str8 Rippin taking on the huge organisation in Evil Geniuses and walking over them 3-0, with a stand-out performance from StuDyy. Fnatic vs Tainted Minds was the other game in that group and the British boys took it 3-2, winning the final Search and Destroy map 6-4.

      Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Two all-European teams make up half of Group G, with Splyce and Millenium taking on Ghost Gaming and Team Kaliber respectively. Both games went right down to the wire; Splyce are considered favourites for the group but made it far more difficult for themselves than they should, only beating tK 3-2. We had a chat with Jurd after their close call, check it out below.

Millenium vs Ghost went the same way, but this time Ghost emerged victorious. Unfortunate for Millenium as it's a game they didn't want to lose; we spoke with MarkyB about their defeat below.

Group H consists of Enigma6 who saw off Team MRN Black with relative ease 3-0, while Cloud9 faced off against Rogue and dropped one map but came out on top at the end of it all.

Group A rolled round again, which featured OpTic vs Epsilon. One of the hottest matches of the day but despite taking the lead early on in Hardpoint, Epsilon couldn't hold on and fell 3-0. Echo Fox vs 3sUP came next and it looked like both teams had learnt from their previous losses, but EF took it on the final map.

Team EnVyUs commenced the final round with a 3-0 victory over Elevate EU, and Mindfreak Black improved from their previous loss and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Projekt Evil.

Group C saw eUnited continue their domination by triumphing over Lethal Gaming 3-0, while Infused are now 1-1 with a game to go after losing to Mindfreak 3-1.

Group D finished off the day and in what is considered somewhat of an upset, Rise defeated Luminosity 3-0. Supremacy improved from their earlier devastation to rise to the challenge and beat Vitality 3-2. After Rise's victory, we caught up with Faccento to find out about their upset below.
