Best zombie-related trailer yet? While Dead Island might wish to pick a fight, there's no denying that the Call of the Dead trailer, released ahead of the upcoming new Black Ops DLC pack, is a winner.

Why so? Well, its filmed in the gritty style of the spoof Grindhouse trailers that intercut the Planet Terror/Death Proof double-bill a few years back, and even has the same fella providing the moody voice-over.

But it's the foursome Activision has on zombie-slaying duties that really kills, which reads as a who's-who of the action-horror world.

You've got Danny Trejo, reprising his character from the recent Machete movie (wielding dual blades and spouting the immortal line "you just f***ed with the wrong Mexican"), Sarah Michelle Gellar back in all her Buffy the Vampire Slayer glory (although copyright issues mean she's not named as such, she's decked out in same clothes of her most iconic role).

Joining them are Robert Englund, who portrayed Freddie Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street movies (though here he's looking more like Bill from Left for Dead) and Michael Rooker, who most recently had been taking on the Undead in the Walking Dead TV series.

Best of all is the cameo by George Romero as one of the shuffling dead - a fitting tribute to the man without whom we arguably won't have had the past two decades of zombie goodness on our consoles.
