Capcom details first major Street Fighter V update

Capcom have today revealed the first character that will be added to Street Fighter V. Named Alex, the character's will appear for the first time since his debut in Street Fighter III.

Described as a powerful grappler, Alex can inflict damage with his close range 'Power Bomb' command grab, and he can fight well from mid-ranged distances. He also has a myriad of attacks that can cover large portions of the screen.

Along with the reveal of the new character, the contents of the new update have also been detailed. The first new mode is named challenge mode, and helps you learn the ins and outs of Street Fighter V and the characters. It comes with lots of beginner, intermediate, and advanced tutorials, and also character tutorials that will cover each of the characters and their movesets. There is also a trials section, in which you must try and get the highest combo possible.

What's more, the update brings with it the in-game shop, an online rematch option, and Battle Lounge improvements, allowing up to 8-person lobbies, and a slew of bugfixes.

The new update, along with the new character Alex, will be available later this month. By playing all of the character Story Mode content, players will be able to earn Alex through Fight Money. You can read the full notes here.
