Casey Hudson, current general manager at Bioware and previously producer/director of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect Trilogy, has started a new blog where he wants to update fans on what's going on with Bioware ahead of the launch of Anthem, which he says will be "unlike anything you've played, but if we do it right, it will feel very distinctly BioWare."

It's safe to say that the studio has been reeling after the failure that Mass Effect: Andromeda ultimately was, and not being able to deliver a story DLC has been frustrating for both fans and developers. However, it seems Bioware is taking all that frustration and using it as fuel in their work on Anthem, learning from the mistakes they made with Andromeda.

"That experience ultimately became a defining moment in refocusing BioWare's mission. We need to delight players with new experiences and innovation, but we must stay focused on the importance of the world, character, and storytelling elements that players expect from our games. And our games must be designed to continue delivering new stories and experiences, in an ongoing relationship with players in the worlds we're evolving together," Hudson wrote in the blog.

Does this leave you more hopeful when it comes to Anthem?

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It engages and entertains even if it is a rather distilled and disjointed experience compared to the studio's usual work."
