CD Projekt revealed some new things concerning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt yesterday, but they also revealed GOG Galaxy, which is more or less the GOG-version of Steam. It almost seems like CD Projekt has listened to all the complaints that players have had about Valve's service, and then created their own platform based on adressing them.

According to CD Project, GOG Galaxy is an entirely optional service. Games will work fine without it, even without an internet connection just as before. Galaxy does offer multiplayer support that crosses platform boundaries, so Galaxy-users can even play with their Steam-using friends. Other platforms are to be added later.

Galaxy does of course also provide the opportunity to keep up with friends, along with automatic game updates.

We are promised more information on
GOG Galaxy later this year.
