In the following video interview, Gamereactor Germany's Martin Eiser (a self-professed point-and-click enthusiast) met up with Charles Cecil as Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse launched on PS4 and Xbox One. In the interview they talked about what's new in the new-gen versions, crowdfunding, as well as what is next for Revolution Software.

The recently reviewed new-gen version (read the review here) Charles Cecil; "we've added extra animations, because it was quite a rush to get the game finished on PC", and thus the console game looks much better. Besides, "we also had the opportunity to listen to our fans", continues Cecil, as "nobody reads diaries, but peoples still want to know what happened before", and hence a system for reviewing all the backgrounds of the characters was put in place. Finally, the team cleaned up the game from bugs and any remaining rough edges.

What's next for Broken Sword and Revolution Software, then? These are some clues from Cecil himself extracted from the full interview:

"It's really hard work writing new games, and there's always something easier to be doing", admits Cecil. "So what I do now is to force myself is we have internal game jams, and I commit to the team to do things by that date and make sure that I deliver". However, "it would be very foolish of me to talk about new games and to make promises, because obviously those promises have come back to haunt certain developers when they've made it".

Besides that, writer confesses "we're in the process of prototyping it", regarding their new game and what may work and what not. "And of course Broken Sword 6 will be great as well; I've got some wonderful story, I'm really excited about the story I've got for BS6, which kind of carries on from Broken Sword 5 in many ways". Finally, Cecil announces "the new story I did does require George and Nico to come to Germany", because of some reasons that you may or may not want to know about (potential spoilers). In passing, Cecil also mentioned trying to work with Dave Gibbons (perhaps best known for his work on Watchmen) on Beneath a Steel Sky 2.
