Check out the first gameplay from Spelunky 2

Sony has released the first gameplay trailer for the roguelike platform sequel, Spelunky 2. The video introduces us to Ana Spelunky, the daughter of the protagonist from the original game, and it shows the online multiplayer portion of the game where players can hunt for treasures with a diverse cast of characters.

"Spelunky is still Spelunky and it will be very challenging," says Derek Yu, creator of Spelunky. "My hope is that new players will want to persevere because we made the effort worth it. Spelunky 2 will have very strong themes of family and friendship and I want new players to feel cared for even as we put tough obstacles in their way."

The gameplay trailer also confirms we can expect Spelunky 2 on PlayStation 4 in 2019. Check out the trailer below.
