One of the biggest announcements to come out of the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019 had to be the Chivalry 2 reveal. After what feels like an eternity since Chivalry: Medieval Warfare launched in 2012, it was a welcome sign to see another large-scale game, and in LA we got to chat with Torn Banner Studios' president Steve Piggott about what's coming.
"Chivalry is really about putting players in their favourite big movie battle scenes like Braveheart or the Battle of the Bastards" said Piggott. "We've taken that to the complete next level with our flagship game mode team objective which really does that by bringing narrative context to the multiplayer. So, the objectives you do in the game aren't just point A or point B, instead you roll up on a village and kill all the peasants and set their houses on fire before working on the castle gate."
To really bring these battles to life, the engine behind Chivalry 2 is much more powerful, allowing up to 2.5x as many individuals on a screen at once. Not only this, but the addition of horses and siege engines has made for a medieval experience that is incredibly authentic and fun to play.
Chivalry 2 is set to launch on PC sometime in 2020, although an actual date is yet to be determined.
Will you be picking up Chivalry 2 when it launches?
