The US teams dominated the proceedings at the 2014 Call of Duty Championships this weekend in Los Angeles. In fact, no European teams finished "in the money" with inly two UK teams - TCM Gaming and Epsilon Esports making the final 16. TEC Intensity were involved in the closest group (5) were three teams finished with a 2-1 record. A search and destroy round robin determined which teams would go through and losing to both Australian Immunity and eventual finalists EnVyUs TEC Intensity were knocked out in heartbreaking fashion. TCM Gaming lost in the first round of the play-offs against eventual winners CompLexity, they went on to lose 3-2 against Rise Nation in the lower bracket. Things were looking better for Epsilon Esports who won their group and swept Vitality Rises in the first play-off round. They went out in the quarterfinals, 3-1 to FaZe, but looked to have a top 8 finish locked up against EnVyUs as they were up 2-0, EnVyUs rallied to win 3-2 and went on reach the grand final against CompLexity. The best non-US team was Australian Trident T1dotters in fifth. Six out of the top 8 teams that finished "in the money" were American.

The comeback of EnVyUs almost got the story book ending it deserved. After losing early in the play-offs they went on a 12 game winning streak in the lower brackets to qualify for the grand final beating teams like Team Kaliber, Epsilon eSports, VexX Revenge, Trident T1dotters, Strictly Business, and OpTic Gaming. However, in the final CompLexity proved the better team winning 3-0 - there simply was no more comeback left in EnVyUs who obviously had a much more taxing schedule in the final two days.

Here is a list of the top placing teams and the prize money:

1st: compLexity - $400,000
2nd: EnVyUs - $200,000
3rd: OpTic Gaming - $120,000
4th: Strictly Business - $100,000
5th: Trident T1dotters - $70,000
6th: FaZe - $50,000
7th: Rise Nation - $35,000
