Whilst at this year's Gamescom, we dropped by The Mix and got to check out a whole bunch of interesting indie titles, one that caught our eye was the upcoming, once April Fools game, Conan Chop Chop. To get an insight into what development looked like for this peculiar title, we spoke with Kim Forrest, Executive Producer at Mighty Kingdom about having access to the Conan brand.

Before getting into the nitty-gritty details, we head to make sure everything was for certain, leading Forrest to say: "It's real, it's a real thing." The four-player, couch co-op roguelike title will actually be coming out, and we are not fooling around this time. So, to get a deeper understanding of the game, we asked how much it will share with the Conan universe.

"We tried to utilise the lore as much a possible" said Forrest. "Our main bad guy, Thoth Amon, is a classic bad guy from the Conan universe, we've got Belit, so if you're a Conan fan it's all there. We take a little bit of a different spin on it, so you know we poke fun at it and it's a bit tongue in cheek, but we've tried to use as much of it as possible."

"We're so happy that we got to do a game with the Conan brand because there is a lot of people on the team that love it. We're really proud of it."

Conan Chop Chop is set to launch on all platforms sometime next year.

Are you excited for this fun indie title?
