During Activision's latest earnings call, CEO Eric Hirshberg admitted once again Crash Bandicoot: Nsane Trilogy crazy sales have been a welcomed surprise at the company, as it "surpassed our wildest expectations".

Now, with the remaster still topping the UK sales charts (as well PlayStation Store's charts for June and July) and new versions such as Xbox One (and perhaps Nintendo Switch?) all but confirmed, it's time to look at the future in terms of strategy for this type of product.

"We think we have other great IP in our portfolio that we're considering, of course, but this isn't new behavior for us", he said, according to Gamespot. "We've already shown the power that is Modern Warfare Remastered [and] Zombies Chronicles, and Crash Bandicoot is obviously another great example."

Of course, the most likely IP would be Spyro, which turned into Skylanders when interest in 3D platformers declined a decade ago. It could also mean a new Crash (and potentially Spyro) games, and not just remakes:

"So this is a strategy that clearly has our attention, and while there are no new announcements today, I think you can be confident there will be more activity like this in the future with more great IP. The other opportunity beyond remasters is to look at some of our classic IP and ask whether or not it can be reborn on a new platform".
