German outfit Crytek has invested heavily in VR and The Climb is their next big VR project - a climbing simulation that's coming exclusively to Oculus.

Cevat Yerli, founder, CEO & president of Crytek, said via the press release: "Gaming has always given us the opportunity to place ourselves in otherwise impossible scenarios, and VR technology such as the Rift makes us feel present in those scenarios like never before. The Climb invites players to experience the intensity of one of the world's most dangerous sports, and they'll truly feel the thrill of being thousands of meters above the ground with nothing but their skill and a few precarious handholds to rely on."

There's is currently no release date for what promises to be a vertigo inducing experience. The first location (of what will be many) where you will be able to climb is Asia, inspired by Vietnam's Halong Bay. The game will support both Xbox One controllers and Oculus Touch as input devices.

For now The Climb appears to be fully exclusive to Oculus. Crytek's other big VR title Robinson: The Journey is currently only slated for release on PS4 and PlayStation VR.
