In little less than a month, fans have pledged £3,771,474 to make Dark Souls: The Board Game a reality. The just ended Kickstarter campaign is a huge success, with both backers and game makers celebrating the amazing achievement. Here's the closing message from the latter:
"A heartfelt thank you from everybody at Steamforged Games Ltd. We've thoroughly enjoyed this campaign and look forward to keeping you all in the loop as the game progresses. We are honoured to have your support and to have spoken with you all in the comments and via the inbox."
Same as the video game series, the Dark Souls: The Board Game will be a challenging endeavour, and involves strategy, combat and exploration for 1-4 players. Both its deep game mechanics and the carefully crafted figurines (including heroes by classes and of course some of the tough bosses), cards and boards captured Souls fans' imaginations from the start of the campaign. Now it's only a matter of time for Steamforged to manufacture the product and ship it, but no date for that has been finalised as yet.
