Tekken 7 producer Katsuhiro Harada and the organisers of EVO have been hot subjects on gaming forums around the world over the last 18+ hours after posting a Tekken 7 teaser that seemed to indicate that Snake from the Metal Gear series would make his way to the popular fighting game. This would have been a dream come through for many out there, so some refused to give up hope even after we were told it was meant as a joke. Now we have another statement that makes the dream less likely to come true.
David Hayter, who voices Snake in most of the Metal Gear Solid games, has posted the following message on Twitter:
"EVO, You also failed to consult me, or Konami. Please do not use my voice to promote other games. Ever. DH"
It sounds like Hanaka-san, Bandai Namco and EVO didn't even bother asking Konami or Hayter for permission before using the iconic character, so it sure seems like the chain-smoking guy isn't just hiding in a cardboard box, ready to be in both Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Tekken 7. We'll apparently have to make due with the former for the time being.
What do you think of "jokes" like this?
