During QuakeCon, we sat down with Arkane Studios' studio director Harvey Smith to talk about the just launched new chapter in the Dishonored series, Death of the Outsider.

"Death of the Outsider is a huge, major chapter in that overarching story. It's pretty much the finale of this piece of Dishonored. The events around Jessamine Kaldwin's political assassination, Corvo, Emily, Daud, Billie and the Outsider, this is a big finale piece for us."

When asked how he'd describe Billie in Death of the Outsider, Smith replies "driven".

"She's one of my favourite characters in the Dishonored universe and if you just look at her you can see all the history. She's older, she's weathered, she's got all these magical artifacts now added to her. But she grew up as a street urchin in Dunwall and she was adopted by this notorious killer. She had this huge adventure if you will, and then she lived with an Empress for a while, and now she's going to take down a God-like figure. She has a huge role in the world."

The conversation also touched on the future ("it sounds coy, but honestly we wait to decide what we're going to do until we really finish off what we're working on and then we take a look at the landscape"), as well as powers, world design, and Dishonored's potential in VR.
