At PlayStation Experience we spoke to Bungie's community manager David "DeeJ" Dague to learn about the return of Sparrow Racing League and the new content, and it's good news for fans of Destiny's racing experience.

"We have two brand new tracks. Amanda Holiday will again be your dealer, she's got bounties and quests," DeeJ said. "There's a record book if you've played Destiny: Rise of Iron. You'll get a record book that'll put you through the paces of winning races or just competing in races. There's new Sparrows, there's new gear, there's all sorts of new things you can get to make your Guardian more powerful or just more unique. If you just want some of those cosmetic touches that Eververse Trading Company that can provide you with. The Sparrow Racing armour this time around has light, it's infusible. So if you want to keep it, if you want to fight in it, if you want to take it into a raid you can do those things although the perks are really ideal for Sparrow Racing so I don't think that we're going to see a lot of people doing that. You could be earning armour as you race that could make your Guardian more powerful, level up and get some light."

Also for fans of the Sparrow Racing League, the races will remain playable in private matches after the end of the event. "In terms of what happens after The Dawning concludes on January 3, the strike scoring is still going to be a feature of the game, you're still going to get that nightfall bounty on a weekly basis, another potential chance to earn your new Icebreaker. Sparrow Racing League will retire to the private matches lobby in the Crucible. So without the bounties and without the drops and without the special incentives to race and do well, you'll still going to enjoy your favourite Sparrow in a friendly match up against some of your friends in a private match."

The Dawning event will be running from December 13 to January 3, but if you're only in it for the Sparrow Racing, there's no rush. Is the return of Sparrow Racing a significant deal for you?
