Destiny 2 is coming our way tomorrow, and at Gamescom we spoke to project lead Mark Noseworthy about the highly-anticipated sequel, and more specifically about post-launch content as well. Noseworthy revealed that it's a balancing act between making sure there's content there to begin with, as well as bringing new things eventually.
"Yeah, you know, we're approaching this in two directions," he explained. "One, we're trying to make a game that's just fun to play, right, and if the game is fun to play and there's always some challenge for you in there, something that you're trying to master, then the content that we ship on day one should remain relevant for a long time, right, should be really fun to replay the raid and try to chase after a certain item or get better at a certain challenge and beat it under a certain time than you had before."
"But the other thing that we're also doing is we're coming up with I think a really good plan for how we're gonna support the game post-launch, you know. There are going to be different events that happen over a calendar of time, kinda similar to Destiny, but we've also announced the seasons pass, and so there's a season pass available and there'll be a couple of expansions planned for the first year after the game comes out. So we're pretty excited about the plans we have - I can't go into too many details today, you know, we haven't launched yet - but I think people are gonna be pretty happy with the content support that we've got planned."
What would you like to see in post-launch content for the game?
