Death of the Outsider is the name of the standalone expansion coming to the Dishonored universe, and it was shown off during Bethesda's E3 conference, with an action-filled trailer revealing a prequel setting and a couple of familiar faces.
The new story-driven expansion - which stars Billie Lurk who you'll no doubt remember played a significant role in the second game, and Daud, who featured in the first game and in that game's DLC - is focused around an attempt to kill the infamous Outsider (for more details, see below).
From the brief look we got during the conference, it looks more action-focused than Dishonored 2, at least, that's what the trailer suggests. No doubt there'll be plenty of opportunities to play things stealthily.
It was also confirmed that the standalone game/expansion will launch on September 15, 2017. Details from Bethesda with regards to the story and key features can be read below:
Take on the role of Billie Lurk (aka Megan Foster), once one of Dunwall's most notorious killers-for-hire. Reunited with your old mentor, the legendary assassin Daud, you undertake the greatest assassination ever conceived: killing the Outsider, a god-like figure whom Billie and Daud see as instrumental to some of the Empire's most dishonorable moments. As you venture deep into the grimiest corners of Karnaca to uncover the mystery of the Outsider and his origins, you will face deadly opposition, ancient powers, and difficult decisions that will forever change the world around you.

The Ultimate Supernatural Assassin - Stay in the shadows or step into the daylight to take on all foes - the choice is yours. Up the ante by accepting Contracts to find and eliminate optional targets throughout your mission.
Replay Your Way - Unleash further potential for creative chaos by replaying with some of the signature powers from Dishonored 2 in the Original Game Plus (OG+) mode.
