Last May Disney decided to close down Avalanche Software and discontinue Disney Infinity. Now it turns out that the talented studio has been saved, and you might consider their new project a bit ironic.
Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that they've brought the former toys-to-life studio back to life, and that it's working on an upcoming Cars 3 game. Some of you might know that the Cars films are made by Pixar, which is owned by none other than Disney. This means that Disney closed down the studio, who's now been revived by Warner Bros, and now they've been hired to make a game for Disney. Who wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall during their first meeting together?
We don't much about the game itself for the moment, just that it'll use the same engine as Disney Infinity did, Octane. It's also worth noting that Avalanche has worked with Pixar and the Cars franchise before, as they helped develop Cars 2 and featured many characters from the franchise in Disney Infinity.
