Everyone that has seen the brilliant documentary The King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters (and if you haven't, there's still time) knows the prestige that comes with being the planet's greatest Donkey Kong player.

The world record has been changing hands regularly of late, and once again someone has set a new high score. On May 5 the new record holder, Wes Copeland, posted a new world beating high score of 1.218 million.

Shortly thereafter Copeland retired as a professional Donkey Kong player by writing this on Facebook: "New world record! This will be my last record score... I don't believe I can put up a game any higher than this."

If you want to see Copeland post what he thinks is the perfect score, head this way and marvel at the player's unbelievable Donkey Kong skills.
