As you may know, Sony is celebrating 25 years of the PlayStation brand this week, and it's been a long road for the company. While many consoles like the PS2 and PS4 have been a success, the PS Vita wasn't quite the hit, and it turns out we shouldn't expect another handheld effort anytime soon.

Game Informer talked with President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan, and he didn't have a lot of positive things to say about the handheld experience:

"Playstation Vita was brilliant in many ways, and the actual gaming experience was great, but clearly it's a business that we're no longer in now."

There have been rumours floating around that Sony is working on a portable unit again, but this pretty much seems to confirm that this isn't on the cards.

Would you like to see a PS Vita successor?
