Fighting experts Arc System Works are establishing a new branch of the organisation in Torrance, California, the company has just announced. The Japanese studio, frequent partners of Pqube, Sega/Sammy, or Bandai Namco, has been behind some of the most hectic acclaimed 2D brawlers for years, including the Blazblue and Guilty Gear series, as well as the highly anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ, which has recently been dated.

Via a press release, CEO Minoru Kidooka announces Arc System Works America, Inc. will seek to "open the channels of communication between fan and developer, ensuring your voices are heard and most importantly applied".

So far, the Japanese devs have worked with local partners in terms of PR overseas, but now they'll push their own communication strategy. It's unknown whether the move also means starting publishing activities in the West, as Arc System Works has also been performing publishing duties in Japan.

Is this a welcome move though?

"If you're a Dragon Ball fan, it's an easy recommendation, as long as you don't mind swapping content for gameplay and graphics."
