Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to star in Rampage: The Movie

New Line and producer Beau Lynn are planning to make a film based on retro classic Rampage, with the flick looking to star Dwayne Johnson.

Midway's 80's arcade action game had you destroying buildings while playing one of three monsters - King Kong rip-off George, Godzilla lookalike Lizzie and "we need to round this to three, stick a Hammer Horror one in" werewolf Ralph.

According to Deadline, in the adaptation (and we use that word very lightly) it's up to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to stop them. The screenplay is written by Ryan Engle and the plan is that Dwayne Johnson will star in it when he's done shooting Fast & Furious 8 - so expect something in 2018.
