Techland has announced that it's upping the price of Dying Light: The Following, this due to the increased size and scope of the upcoming expansion.

The add-on has become so big that it could be a standalone game, this according to a statement issued by the developer. They decided against this however, as it would mean a delay for the release of the new material.

First announced in August for a price of $14.99 / €14.99 / £9.99, the expansion will now set you back $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99. The game's season pass, which also includes The Following, will also see a price hike to $29,99 / €29.99 / £23.99.

"As promised back in August, our expansion will still be free for all Dying Light Season Pass holders. However, since the Season Pass will now include this bigger-than-anticipated addition, we needed to adjust the price accordingly," Techland wrote.

The price changes will not take effect until December 8, so those that purchase the season pass before that can still get it at the lower price.
No specific release date has been set for The Following DLC, but Techland did mention it's now in the "polishing period" so we're expecting to see it early next year.
