Earth Defense Force goes digital

Earth Defense Force 2017, the monster shooter which had 'cult classic' slapped all over it, has been re-released as part of Xbox Live's Games on Demand.

The game is available for download here for £14.99.

The game, which emphasised arcade-style action as you protected your city from waves of gigantic invading creatures, was originally released on the console in 2007, were it picked up critical acclaim despite lacking the finesse of the current generation of titles, with ropey graphics and god-awful voice-acting.

The sequel, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, screens of which are below, is due for release early next year and includes an online four-player cooperative campaign.
