Guild Esports has announced the expansion of its FIFA esports division with the signing of yet another player. Joining the David Beckham-backed organisation will be the second highest earning esports professional in Argentina, Nicolas "Nicolas99fc" Villalba.
Nicolas99fc has signed with Guild on a one-year contract deal, with the option to renew for a second year, and as part of the signing, he will be moving from Argentina to London to compete in the European competitive scene.
"We are so pleased to welcome Nicolas to Guild and support his move to the U.K. to further develop his skills and talent as a player through our academy system," said Kal Hourd, chief executive of Guild Esports. "FIFA is a highly significant esport for Guild's pipeline of sponsors and partners and we are delighted to be strengthening our position in the European rankings with Nicolas, one of the most consistently high-performing players within FIFA."
Nicolas99fc will play alongside Niklas "Nraseck" Raseck on Guild's 2022 FIFA roster in the FIFA eClub Series, as well as competing in the 1v1 FIFA Global Series.
